as the name suggests, Corsair is for the more

ADVENTURESOME.

The largest of the model homes built at Samaan Grove, Corsair is some

distance away from the entrance, and its solitary position affords it the

most wonderful views across the development: lily-filled ponds on one

side; the soon-to-be-constructed signature designed golf course on the

other; and everywhere birdsong and small wild animals going about

their business! Living here is reminiscent of a kind of natural and relaxed

lifestyle that no longer exists.

But here, it does!

Corsair was built on Lot 26 and there are five entrances to the home,

including a separate tradesman’s entrance via the laundry room to the

kitchen. There is parking for four cars. The

water tank area is outside of the main house where there is significant

space for additional storage. There are two 600 gallon tanks for the

house and one 600 gallon tank for the sprinkler system. all the controls

and pumps are kept in this room. air conditioning compressors are

placed at the side of the house, putting them out of sight while at the

same time making them easy to service.

as you drive into the grasscreted parcade, you cannot help

but be charmed by the lovely

“O”-SHAPED SWIRLS

the windows. Painted a vibrant green, these wrought iron

sconces draw attention to the beautiful shuttered windows

– a prominent feature of the Corsair home.

Everything about Corsair is spacious, from the size of the rooms, to

the dimensions of the furniture. For instance, the beautifully worked

seats eight. For indoor entertainment, the home is

equipped with an LCD flat screen tv and dvd/cd player. The spacious,

fully equipped kitchen is big enough for catering large groups of people,

and has a lovely breakfast area on the porch immediately outside it.

Corsair is cooled by

constant breezes … from

the north-east in the rainy

season, and directly from

the east in the dry season.

This airy

house is typical of colonial

homes of the past, where

first-floor bedrooms and

ground-floor living spaces

access cool porches on

both levels.

Wide living areas give onto the expansive, functional porch, which sits at a

higher elevation than the

POOL DECK

, and is the ideal vantage point for

the passing parade of brilliantly plumaged birds. all the porch furniture is

covered in Sunbrella material and can withstand the elements. The porch

flows out onto a tiled deck and seamlessly joins the spacious back lawn.

The pool, which is long enough to swim lengths, is flanked on both sides

by decorative ponds, either one of which could be converted into a Jacuzzi

at a later point in time. Corsair’s garden is now luxuriating in its first rainy

season, and it is expected that by December it will be as lush as the other

properties developed at Samaan Grove.

THE THREE LARGE BREEZY BEDROOMS

with ensuite bathrooms, all located upstairs, each

leads onto the upper porch which gives a wonderful

view of the estate and proposed golf course. Susan

Kenny’s tasteful decorative touch is seen in the

many elegant furnishings and wall art throughout

this home, and the bedrooms are shady, welcoming

refuges, with rich linens.
